    Located on the western side of the Hispaniola Island, Haiti is the first nation to attain independence in Latin America. The condition of the country’s local market is not very stable, thus residents prefer to import used vehicles from other nations with Japan being the popular choice.

The country permits importation of only left hand drive vehicles.

For instance, in the year 2003 Haiti had the ratio of 223.3 people per registered vehicles, that was the highest ratio of any country in the Western Hemisphere. With the population of around 10 million, it is clear that there is huge demand for quality vehicles in the country. Haiti offers a big market for vehicles and exporters, it is just that vehicle imported into the country should match with the country’s standard and regulations.
